IQAC- PROFILE

As per the guidelines of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore, the establishment of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a mandatory requirement for all NAAC–accredited institutions. Government Arts College, Ariyalur was accredited by NAAC in the May 2005 with ‘B’ Grade. The IQAC is the central quality-monitoring body of the institution. It functions under the Principal, the Chairperson and comprises senior Faculty members, representative from the alumni and a student representative. The prime aim of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of institutions. IQAC is a significant body of the institution which monitors the process of teaching, learning and learning evaluation. It takes the responsibility of generating and promoting awareness in the institution regarding multilevel quality sustenance activities and implementing new ones for attaining excellence.

It defines the short- term and long-term objectives of the institution. It creates a benchmark for quality-enhancement measures. It monitors and coordinates the execution. The IQAC meets on a regular basis to discuss about the introduction of need based new programs, creation of infrastructure and increasing the effective functioning of all systems.
